How to Replace an Audi G28 Engine Speed Sensor

1. Engine Speed Sensor

The sensor is used as a reference point to connect with the G40 Camshaft Position Sensor. The ecu must be aware of when the crankshaft has reached TDC and also the position of the camshaft, to trigger the spark and injectors.
If this sensor fails, the ECU will display the P00160 error, which means the Crank Shaft and Intake Camshaft are out of sync and could indicate the chain is stretched or a jump link on the upper timing chain. However, the error code won't appear on its own, without additional information from other sensors (G4 and G40).
Testing can be a bit difficult because there are two connector pins and they serve different purposes but the most effective method of testing it is by measuring resistance between the sensor and the ECU. It should read approximately 1000 ohms if the sensor is in full operation. If you are having problems with this sensor, look for signs of coolant or oil in the connector bay.
2. Injectors
Yesterday, while accelerating at full speed from the highway paytoll i had an abrupt drop in power like the engine is running out of gas or the injectors aren't firing any more. I took out the spark plugs this morning and found that 3 were drenched in gasoline and the fourth was dry. When i crank the engine, there are no sparks i put tissue on the top of each hole in the injector, the 3 drenched with gazoline leap out, however the 4th one stays closed. I checked the ground connection of ECU pins 14,30 and 48/55. I found 0ohm. I assume that the problem is somewhere else.
I also tried to reset the PID with no success. The coolant temperature sensor (G62) shows the wrong temperature value of that is -49c even after unplugging it. I'm not sure what to do, but i believe that i've ruled out everything else. I'm afraid i may have missed something. If anyone has suggestions, please chime in! TIA!
3. Fuel Pump
The fuel pump on the g28 is activated by a signal sent from the RPM sensor. The GM-style sensor is the same as the G4 and both are used in the 80, 100, 200, UrS and RS2 cars which is why you can easily locate one at a wrecking yard or in a local parts store.
