Top Rated Robot Vacuums

A robot vacuum will keep the floors clean enough to cut down on the frequency with which you'll need to manually vacuum. Select a vacuum with good navigation, is able to clean stairs and corners, and that has an enormous bin that needs to be cleaned out every now and then.

1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

The i3+ EVO and its i3 EVO sibling, the i3 EVO are both identical robots, but they differ in that the i3+ has self-emptying features. That makes the i3+ a good option for those looking for an entirely automated, hands-free cleaning experience but don't mind taking the time to empty their robot's trash bin when it fills up.

Both robots are proficient at removing surface dirt on floors and carpets and are able to navigate around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates a smart maps of your home to assist the i3+ to navigate and clean efficiently. The i3+ isn't able to feature obstacle avoidance features like the i7+ or other top-rated robots that we test. It can be stuck on power cords and socks and have difficulty navigating between surfaces, such as carpet and hardwood.

iRobot suggests cleaning up the area where the i3+ EVO vacuums prior to using it. This includes putting away any toys or clutter it might come across. Also, keep the filters and dust bin clear to avoid getting blocked. When the i3+'s internal bin is full or the battery is empty it goes back to its docking station, automatically empties its trash into the station's external dustbin, and then continues cleaning the area where it left off. Battery life is about an hour-and-a-half of continuous use. It takes three hours to fully charge.

2. Roomba from iRobot

The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the most powerful model in the iRobot flagship line and has the most up-to-date features. It has self-charging and self-navigating, but the most significant feature is its self-emptying bin. This will eliminate the need for regular maintenance.

The Roomba i7+ can keep up to 10 floor plans and their names using Imprint Smart Mapping, an application that lets it map rooms so it can clean them more efficiently. It also works with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning tasks and direct your robot by voice or via the app.

The i7+ is faster and more maneuverable in our tests compared to the eufy RoboVac G30. It also picked up large pet hair pieces from any surface, including carpeting. The main advantage it has over the Eufy is its self-emptying garbage bin which eliminates the main sources of maintenance and lowers the cost of recurring maintenance.

We were also impressed with the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We utilized these services to instruct the robot to start, stop, or pause cleaning sessions and also to move around the room, and to vacuum a particular area. Connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and straightforward through the iRobot Home app. After connecting we were able to communicate with the i7+ using voice commands, such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options for managing i7+ settings and evaluating performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

In a world filled with cordless vacs that are like minivans and buses, this small Dyson model is an old-fashioned sports car. It has the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum in most households, but it also fits in well next to the coffee table or shelves that you can spin around like a magic device.

The V10 is powered by a 7-cell, energy-dense lithium-ion battery that produces continuous, non-fading power for 60 minutes. Its sophisticated whole-machine filtration system captures allergens and expels clean air back into your home. The specially designed head utilizes stiff nylon bristles that penetrate deep into carpets and pick up large dust or crumbs. It comes with three suction settings to match the task at hand. It is able to swiftly change between handheld and floor robot vacuum and vice versa.

This model also has docks that charge to 100% in around 3.5 hours, and gives users an easy access to two attachments and the wand clip. This is a significant improvement over older Dysons which require a long charge and are difficult to store.

The main drawback of the V10 is its limited run time. Its marketing claims that it can last up to 60 minutes of running time are a bit misleading as CR's tests show. This is an average, not an exceptional, run time for an electric cordless vacuum powered by batteries. This is enough time to sweep the average-sized home however, it's not enough time to reach every area. (A second run usually works). That's not to say this model doesn't have its benefits: It's lighter and maneuverable than older cordless Dysons and its vacuuming efficiency is superior on carpets with a low pile.

4. iRobot Roomba 694"

One of the most well-known robot vacuums, the 694 is an entry-level model that's a great option for those who don't want to spend too much on a robot. It was able to remove most types of debris and sizes during our testing and often went over the same area several times to give an extensive clean. Its flat front end helps to get into corners and along the walls' edges, which is a nice touch.

Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt to stay clear of obstacles and navigate your home, but it lacks the ability to map that comes with more sophisticated models such as our top Rated robot auto vacuum (fakenews.win) selections such as the i3+ EVO and the j7+ series. It can get stuck on cords for phones or furniture that is low and will often run out of power before returning to its base.

The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in all aspects because it has fewer components that require regular cleaning, is fitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, incurs lower costs for recurring maintenance, has more advanced automation capabilities and does a better job maneuvering itself. It also has a larger dustbin and charges quicker.

The RoboVac X8 is a slick RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 in most reasons, since it has a longer battery life, can change its suction power mode on its own and comes with physical boundary strips, and can be controlled by your smartphone's voice assistant. It's also more robust, has a more powerful motor, and can perform better on floors with bare or low-pile.

Samsung is a household name in home electronics. It's no surprise, then, that they are also among the top manufacturers of robot vacuums and mop. Jet Bot AI+ has a cutting-edge onboard technology to navigate and avoid obstacles.

The app gives you plenty of options to personalize your robotic cleaner, such as virtual barriers, mopping water levels and behavior customization, docking frequency settings, and much more. The app is easy to learn and use similar to other Samsung devices.

In our tests our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors and dealt with dog hair (on carpet) very well, picking up 86% of it. It didn't do very well in avoiding taller items like cords or socks. This was disappointing. It's priced higher than other models that we tested, and this could be a problem for some buyers.

The smart vacuum comes with an onboard camera that can be accessed through the app, and you can also create a live stream from the robot's cleaning station. This feature lets you check in on pets or the kids if you're away from home. The filter and the dustbin can be washed for an easy, quick clean-up. The app also lets you to personalize the LED lights on the top of the vacuum by using different colors, so you can clearly see which areas it's focused on or where it's stuck.

The app also makes it easy to manually steer the robot if needed. For instance my living room rug has a darkly-colored border that tends to make it difficult for other robots I've tested.
