Exploring Ozempic Side Effects: Can They Be Linked to Cancer Risks?

But like other GLP-1 medications, Ozempic can cause in some users. These are gastrointestinal side effects, such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, constipation, and abdominal discomfort, because their body is still adjusting to the medication. There are also some rare but serious risks that Ozempic takers may experience, such as pancreatitis, gallbladder issues (gallstones), or diabetic retinopathy complications. Long-term studies on Ozempic, which uses the drug for 18 months, show that there is no increased risk of cancer in users compared to other medicines for diabetes and weight loss.

In the UK, the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence recommends Ozempic for individuals who have type 2 diabetes and obesity. But, they are giving extra care to patients with thyroid problems and those who have unexplained stomach symptoms.
