A surgeon usually starts the incision from the armpit, beneath the breast, or around the areola to insert saline or silicone gel.Saline is filled with sterile salt water solution, while Silicone implants are filled with a cohesive gel that closely mimics the feel of natural breast tissue. Another type of breast enlargement is fat grafting, where fat from the donor site is injected into the breast. The procedure is customisable based on the patient’s aesthetic desires and goals.
Breast enlargement is a personal choice, the size and shape will depend on the patient’s goals and desired results. There are a few factors that you need to consider such as consulting a qualified surgeon, considering your body type, as well as the surgeon’s recommendation.
Implants have different measurements, usually ranging from 200cc to 800 cc or more. You can try the sizers to help you visualise how they look after the procedure. You can also check other patients before and after photos with the same body type as you, to help you decide on how much implant or fat transfer you may need.
On the day of your surgery, your breast area will be cleansed to lessen the risk of infections. For the fat transfer procedure, your doctor will collect excess fat in the donor site, such as the abdomen, hips, flanks, or thighs. A small incision will be created in the donor region to collect fat using a cannula. After collecting, fat cells will be processed and purified to retain only the healthy cells and remove damaged cells and impurities. Healthy cells will then be injected into the breast.
After the operation, you will be taken to the recovery room for monitoring. Before your discharge, your surgeon will provide a post-operative care guide to ensure proper healing.
Breast enlargement operations typically last for about 45 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the surgeon’s procedure and the complexity of the patient’s requirements.
Breast implants are considered safe, especially when performed by qualified and well-experienced doctors.
